ADVANCE

ADVANCED PERFORMANCE.

Altitude at sea level, and hydrogen you breathe sitting still.
The technology that raises your ceiling, not just your recovery.

PAST RECOVERY

RECOVERY BRINGSYOU BACK.

THIS TAKES YOUFURTHER.

Everything in the recovery wing helps you recover from work. Advanced Performance is different — it's the equipment that changes what your body is capable of in the first place. A controlled low-oxygen room that makes twenty-five minutes do the job of fifty. Hydrogen and oxygen therapy that targets oxidative stress after hard training. And, arriving shortly, a hyperbaric chamber. This is the part of the building for people preparing for something.

THE PERFORMANCE ROOM

INSIDE ADVANCEDPERFORMANCE.

01 ALTITUDE

HIGH ALTITUDE ROOM

~2,500–4,500m Simulated · Normal Air Pressure · 25 min ≈ 50 at Sea Level

ACCESS:

Every tier, from Grounded $38.

A controlled low-oxygen room simulating real mountain elevation, at normal air pressure. Rest, cycle or train in here.

THE SCIENCE

The room holds oxygen at the concentration you'd find high in the mountains while keeping air pressure normal. With less oxygen available per breath, your body compensates: heart rate rises, blood vessels widen and more blood is pushed to the working muscles. The same effort simply costs your body more — which is why twenty-five minutes in here does roughly what fifty would outside. Sustained exposure to low oxygen also drives EPO, the hormone that signals the body to produce more red blood cells.

THE BENEFITS

  • More red blood cells and better oxygen transport
  • Improves oxygen efficiency and lung capacity
  • Greater stamina and endurance
  • More power and performance
  • Better fatigue resistance
  • Speeds recovery and increases calorie burn

HOW IT FEELS

You'll notice it within a few minutes — breathing is heavier at the same pace and your heart rate sits higher than it should. Easy work feels moderate. Start conservatively; this is the one room where people overcook it on the first go.

BEST FOR

  • Endurance building

  • Training when time is short

  • Hiking, climbing and altitude preparation

  • Cyclists and runners

Important: to maintain optimal oxygen levels, please ensure the door is fully closed behind you.

02 BREATHE

H2/O2 THERAPY

Hydrogen + Oxygen · Nasal Cannula or Mask · 30 Minutes

ACCESS:

  • Risen $68 — 1× a week
  • Ascended $98 — unlimited

Hydrogen and oxygen gas breathed through a nasal cannula or mask, generated on site from purified water. Fully non-invasive, seated.

THE SCIENCE

Molecular hydrogen behaves as a selective antioxidant. Rather than mopping up everything, it neutralises the most damaging free radicals while leaving alone the ones the body uses for normal signalling — which is what separates it from taking antioxidants indiscriminately. It's also small enough to cross the blood-brain barrier. The research on recovery and oxidative stress is the strongest; the work on cognition and mood is early, and we'd rather say so than overstate it.

THE BENEFITS

  • Acts as a targeted antioxidant, neutralising harmful free radicals
  • Supports reduced inflammation
  • Supports cellular energy production — often felt as clarity and vitality
  • Early research points to cognitive and mood support
  • Popular with athletes for recovery and reduced oxidative stress after training
  • Pairs well with infrared sauna, red light and other recovery modalities

HOW IT FEELS

Almost nothing while it's happening. You sit and breathe normally for half an hour — most people read or work through it. The reported effect is clarity later in the day rather than anything in the chair.

BEST FOR

  • After hard training

  • Stacking with sauna or red light

  • Mental clarity

  • Recovering while you sit still

Pressurised oxygen therapy is on its way to South Melbourne. Ascended members will be first to know when bookings open.

GETTING IT RIGHT

STARTCONSERVATIVELY.

01

Warm up on the training floor first.

A short warm-up primes the body before altitude.

02

Twenty-five minutes is a full session.

It's doing the work of fifty. Treat it that way.

03

Follow it with something passive.

H2/O2 or compression boots. Both seated, both zero effort — which is what you want after the hardest part of the session.

03

Build slowly.

This is the one room where people overcook it on the first go.

HYPERBARIC CHAMBER INCOMING
WHY IT'S HERE

RAISE THE CEILING.

Most gyms give you equipment. This is the room that changes what your body does with it — more red blood cells, better oxygen efficiency, a higher ceiling to train against. The altitude room is in every membership from Grounded up; H2/O2 opens at Risen, and the hyperbaric chamber at Ascended.
